From the editor:

This is our second issue for 2015 and we have a full issue of two refereed articles, one non-refereed article, two interviews, and a vintage article from 2000. We hope our readers will enjoy these contributions as much as we have enjoyed working with the authors. We would also like to invite people to think of a possible article they could contribute to the MEXTESOL Journal.

The first article is 'Construction of an English Language Teacher Identity: Perceptions and Contrasts in Mexico' by Gerrard Mugford (Universidad de Guadalajara), William Sughrua (Universidad Autónoma 'Benito Juárez' de Oaxaca) and Mario López-Gopar (Universidad Autónoma 'Benito Juárez' de Oaxaca). This refereed article examines the themes of teacher identity and emotions of Mexican BA students. These authors mention how affective attitudes shape the students' self-perceived identities as teachers and how their study programs have fostered these identities.

The second article comes from Alys D. Avalos-Rivera (Oklahoma State University) who has submitted 'Generating Beliefs about the Target Language and its Culture: A Study-Abroad Experience'. This refereed article is a narrative study of the experiences of three Mexican graduate students in a study-abroad course in the US and it concentrates on the interaction of these learners with the host culture, examining their beliefs about the US and their second language experience.

Stephen Mark Silvers (Universidade Federal do Amazonas) offers a rationale and a number of suggestions for incorporating action-based activities using imperatives in lessons in his non-refereed article 'A Practical Guide to Actions in the Classroom'. These ideas can be used to supplement a class, to provide a change of pace, or to demonstrate specific grammar points. He provides a number of examples for those who are interested in using these activities.

Next we have the second part of a previous interview from Josefina C. Santana (Universidad Panamericana): 'Tips for Effective Online Learning: An Interview with Nicole Eustice, Part 2'. In this final part of the interview, Eustice discusses the importance of grouping online learners by pairs, teams, or individually in order to get the most out their interactions.

Last but not least, JoAnn Miller has selected the article of 'Nonnative English-speaking Professionals: A New Agenda for a New Millennium' by Lía D. Kamhi-Stein for our vintage article. Lía gave a presentation of these ideas in the 1999 MEXTESOL Conference in Mazatlan and then the article was published in 2000. Lía's ideas concerning the non-native English speakers are still relevant, even after fifteen years.

We would also like to announce that Maria Guadalupe Rodriquez Bulnes (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León) has stepped down as the Editor of Non-refereed Articles. She has had a positive impact upon our journal and the MEXTESOL chapter in Nuevo Leon. We are grateful for her hard work during the years and wish her the best in the future. Josefina C. Santana, or better known as Dixie (Universidad Panamericana), has taken this position and we welcome Dixie. Both of these people are dedicated to the MEXTESOL Journal as well as the MEXTESOL organization. Thanks go to both for their commitment to the MEXTESOL Journal.

Keep in mind that the TESOL Symposium will be held in Cancun on November 4, 2015 followed by the 42nd MEXTESOL International Convention from November 5-8, 2015. The theme for the convention is 'Building the Future Today: English Language Teaching and Learning Breakthroughs'. We hope to see you at the MEXTESOL Journal booth where you can meet the Editorial Board and editors. See you soon! ...
