From the editor:

Our fourth and final issue of 2018 is one of the most international we have published. We have articles for you from Mexico, Ecuador, Turkey, Iran, and Taiwan. The topics covered are also varied, from theoretical to practical. The first three are refereed articles and the others are non-refereed.
Our first article (Investigating the Use of a Mobile Flashcard Application Rememba on the Vocabulary Development and Motivation of EFL Learners) comes from Turkey. Tugce Kose and Enisa Mede from Istanbul have investigated the effects of using a mobile flash card application (Rememba) with a spaced repetition system on motivation as well as vocabulary development of university students in a preparatory program.
The second article (Subgrupos y sus necesidades en una población de nivel intermedio de inglés de la Universidad de Sonora) comes from Mexico and uses an innovative statistical method (K-modes) to examine the needs of university level students. María Georgina Clark Rivas and Jorge Alejandro Villa Carrillo investigate the possibility of classifying students into subgroups in terms of several variables.
Abbas Ali Rezaee and Elnaz Oladrostam from Iran in their paper Viewing IPPLL in Light of Gender Differences: An Exploratory Approach give us an investigation into positive emotions and their place in language acquisition, as well as studying if there are any significant differences between male and female students in how they judge items in the Inventory of Positive Psychology in Language Learning (IPPLL).

Our fourth article, Reflective Teaching as a Form of Professional Development by Aaron David Mermelstein from Taiwan, defines the reflective teaching approach and discusses the benefits of adopting it. Suggestions for implementing it in the classroom as also discussed and the results of a reflection-in-action activity are presented.

The next article (Pre-instructional Student Assessment) is from Ecuador. The authors, Ligia Fernanda Espinosa Cevallos and Sandy T. Soto, examine methods of assessing students before classes begin and report on the results of a system that involves more than just cognitive and academic areas, but also considers students' sociocultural and linguistic performance.

In our final article, Making English Speakers: Makerspaces as Constructivist Language Environments, Wade Alley from Guadalajara, Mexico, examines how a makerspace (a constructivist learning environment involving creating objects) can be applied to second language learning in a university environment.
